The Parish Council are in the process of trying to register The Seven Tuns as an Asset of Community Value (ACV). An Asset of Community Value (ACV) is a designation applied to land or property in the UK that is considered to be of significant community interest or value. This designation allows communities to have a say in the future use or sale of the property. When a property is listed as an ACV, it means that if the owner decides to sell it, there is a period during which local community groups can express interest in bidding to purchase it. This process is designed to give communities a chance to preserve important local amenities, such as pubs, community centers, libraries, or recreational spaces, that are valued by residents.
The Parish Council’s initial application was turned down by Cotswold District Council. The legal advice given to CDC said, amongst other things, “Given the lack of supporting evidence it is difficult for the writer to determine whether these events or group meetings furthered the social wellbeing and social interests of the local community”.
Efforts are now going to be made gather and provide further evidence to support a new application.

I am the Treasurer of Chedworth Cricket Club. When it is open we use the Seven Tuns for our committee and other meetings including annual dinners. Our last meeting there was on 30/11/23 at 7PM. I also have limited historic emails which confirming meetings held in 2021 and 2019. I have documentation to support all of this but prefer not to upload it as it contains personal and financial information.
