Parish Councillors agree to submit ACV Nomination form

Chedworth Parish Councillors agreed at May’s Parish Council Meeting (13th May) to apply again for The Seven Tuns to be registered as an Asset of Community Value (ACV). Villagers in the audience, through a show of hands, registered their unanimous support for this decision.

The Nomination Form contained information and photographs provided by villagers and others of the pub’s use over the years, headlines from the recent survey, comparisons with other pubs registered by CDC, letters of support from local MP Sir Geoffrey Clifton-Brown and CDC Councillor Paul Hodgkinson and other relevant information.

Parish Council Chairman thanked the Seven Tuns Action Group for their assistance in providing information for the application.

Councillor Hodgkinson said that the process for approving such registrations is also going to be looked at by CDC with the aim of involving the local Councillor in it.

Parish Council Chairman said he hoped that, unlike the previous application submitted in August last year, this application will be considered and a decision made within the statutory 8 weeks. Councillor Hodgkinson commented that with a spotlight now being shone on the process he imagined efforts will made to make a timely decision.
